Amendment No. 1 was offered by Representative Croft: Page 2, lines 18, 23 and 28: Delete "jointly by the president of the senate of the Twentieth Alaska State Legislature and the speaker of the house of representatives of the Twentieth Alaska State Legislature" Insert "by the governor" Representative Croft moved and asked unanimous consent that Amendment No. 1 be adopted. Amendment No. 2 was offered by Representatives Green and Mulder: Page 3, line 28: Delete "before" Insert "on or before the first day of November of the year prior to" Representative Green moved and asked unanimous consent that Amendment No. 2 be adopted. Objection was heard and withdrawn. There being no further objection, Amendment No. 2 was adopted. Amendment No. 3 was offered by Representative Elton: Page 3, following line 3: Insert a new subsection to read: "(d) For purposes of this section, the minority is comprised of two or more members of a political party that has fewer seats than the majority." Reletter the following subsections accordingly. Representative Elton moved and asked unanimous consent that Amendment No. 3 be adopted. Representative Vezey objected. The question being: "Shall Amendment No. 3 be adopted?" And so, Amendment No. 3 was not adopted. Amendment No. 4 was offered by Representative Berkowitz: Page 3, line 24, following "necessary." Insert "Whenever possible, meetings shall be teleconferenced to reduce travel cost." Representative Berkowitz moved and asked unanimous consent that Amendment No. 4 be adopted. Representative Barnes objected and withdrew the objection. There being no further objection, Amendment No. 4 was adopted. Representative Porter moved and asked unanimous consent that CSHB 356(FIN) am be considered engrossed, advanced to third reading and placed on final passage.
